There its a part of the brain called the Reticular Activating System one job of this part of the brain is to look after focus, knowing this we know that regularity is key in forming new habits, its the science behind manifestation and affirmations.  The subconscious needs direction and therefore giving yourself commands or recognising things you are good at or have achieved on a daily basis will show the focus part of the brain what to look for in the peripherals.  its the reason you will see your type of car without actually looking to see one.
